Our pop-up market shop is graciously hosted, and the venue (Old Mill Building) offered free of charge, by The Merry Widow Country Retreat.  

As part of its commitment to responsible tourism, The Merry Widow Country Retreat remains dedicated to encouraging sustainability and community involvement by the private sector.

This month, our community market turned 5 years old!  With the help of our host, we have grown from a small once-a-month market with only 8 traders, to a weekly market with a whopping 45 traders!

On Saturday mornings, the Country Retreat offer visitors  a  selection of delectable warm drinks from the coffee bar, their well-known signature breakfast and freshly prepared seasonal chef's choices.

You will find this lovingly restored and centrally situated Country Retreat at 29 Kerk Street, Hopefield - right opposite the Hopefield Dutch Reformed church, adjacent to Simply Bee Natural Beeswax products & the Bee Observation centre.

The stylishly relaxed and easy-going Country Retreat, creates a space for those who needs to take a break from the hussle and bustle of life to relax in a friendly environment of warm hospitality, old world charm with a new world splendour and authentic living.

The beautifully designed and decorated suites will help you to relax, slow down and enjoy a restful night's sleep in the tranquil setting  of country living.
